Hello Baby Steely!

I cant believe how I can go to bed one night and feel double the size the next morning. People can officially tell I am pregnant in anything that I wear so thankfully I am out of the awkward stage. Here is a picture from the beginning to 24 weeks. I am officially 25 weeks now, two more weeks and I will be in my third trimester!

Oh how the belly will grow from now on. Lets hope for a not so Texas hot summer.

24 week check up

Baby Steely had its 24 week check up today. Looks like baby Steely is growing just how it should be. I go back in 3 weeks when I hit my 3rd trimester for my glucose test. I cant believe I am almost into my third trimester. Then will come the every other week appointments.

Today at the assisted living that I train at a resident there gave me a baby jacket that she knitted herself. Very sweet and very talented.

A few weeks ago the time had come to pack up all my clothes that would no longer fit. :( It was a very sad day to box up all my t-shirts and hope that I will fit back into them within the next year. Not all these boxes are just t-shirts, our winter clothes as well.

Now on the to-do list is work on my registry and work on the baby room!!

A glimps into baby Steelys life

We were excited to have our 20 week check up this past week with an ultra sound as well. Baby Steely is growing well, does not weigh a pound yet but is right where it should be. Its heart beat did go up since our last heart beat screening from 146 to 152. Not that it really matters but it falls right in the middle of is it a girl or boy heart beat?

We did receive a few pictures from our ultrasound but since we did not want to find out the gender we could only take home head shots with us. Our baby liked to show off its frontal face shot instead of a nice profile look. So kind of creepy but amazing that a baby is growing inside of me.

Drew got to feel the baby kick for the first time this past week as well. I have been able to feel the baby move for a few weeks now and when I finally get to relax on the couch after a busy day at work the baby likes to kick up a storm. It will be interesting to see how powerful the kicks will get since I can already feel them so often already.
I cant believe I have grown so much already even though people still think I look small for being 21 weeks. I don't even remember being that small at week 4. I have officially boxed up all my clothes that no longer fit and hope to see them again within the next year.

Drew and I have known the name choices for a while but finally decided to share them with the world. It is exciting not finding out what we are having and we will be ecstatic to be able to see which name will be used around October 4th. The names were not to hard to think of, both first names we have liked for many years and the middle name comes from a friend who passed away way to young. If we have a girl, she will be Ember Morgan Steely and if we have a boy, he will be Wesley Sheppard Steely. Ember was actually a girl in one of Drew's college classes and once he told me her name back our Junior year we both fell in love with it, and of course Wesley is a family name which I have always loved.

Hello Baby Steely. It is so weird to see a picture like this and know that this baby is actually able to be created inside of me. The ultra sound tech made us close our eyes when she checked down below so no cute full body shots but I do love that our baby loves to she off its face. The ultra sound tech would try to get the baby to move but it would just curl up into a ball and then relax back in the same position. Maybe we will have a stubborn baby. lol Baby Steely did have all good measurements and everything that was supposed to be there was there. It was neat to be able to see colored brain movements, the heart and its four chambers pump, and how the umbilical cord works and see different colors flow though so they could check to make sure all was going well.

Keep posted for more updates!! Next up baby registry time!

College Girls Reunited

Once we got back from Colorado we headed off to Nacogdoches to celebrate my sororities 50th year reunion at SFA. It was so good seeing all my sorority sisters and showing off my small baby bump.

Finally updating and baby keeps growing

We have been busy since April and moved into our new apartment at the beginning of May. We finally tracked down our hot spot Internet again so I am back to updating and keeping you guys informed.

Enjoy!

At the end of April we took a trip to Colorado to spend some time with my sister and her family. We had a great time with all different kinds of weather and are ready to go back already. We got to do some hiking, play in the snow, and eat lots of delicious food. I think we need to head out there just so I can motivate myself to get some exercise. Its about time my pregnant, slowly getting fatter butt, gets off the couch.

I came home with lots of my sisters maternity clothes which have come in handy as my belly starts to expand.

15 Week Check up

Baby Steely is doing great! Baby has an official heart beat of 146! We got to hear the heart beat for the first time during our first ultra sound and it was 185 at 7 weeks. I was excited to see what is was once we at least hit 12 weeks when it was supposed to settle down a little.

I enjoy playing the is it a boy or girl game so I think I will add this to my stats of it might be a boy with a slower heart rate. Though when  I was about to be born I don't know what my heart beat was but it was low so they thought I was a boy, so who knows!

We will have our big ultra sound on May 21st though we will not find out the gender!

Pregnant momma feeling good!

I always go through phases where I try to grow my hair out and always end up cutting it back off in the long run. My hair had been getting pretty frumpy looking and was not making me feel like an exciting pregnant mom. So today after 5 months I finally got my hair cut and it feels so good!

Even though I should be saving money i decided I needed something I can do for myself once a month. So keeping up with a short hair cut will be a nice treat for myself.
